Eric: Naturally, this is the day when we could potentially have a huge new influx of readers....

So, a couple of people have noticed Gossamer Commons seems to be... well, down. A database/WordPress error crops up when you go to the page. Which makes it seem like there's a problem on our end. Only... well, GC's hosted on the same server as Talk About Comics, and Talk About Comics is also down.

So it's not impossible that there's something wrong with our site, but it's more likely to be on a deeply unhappy box that needs some attention. (Which, if I know the landlord, is happening even as we speak). So, patience, all!

(With luck, it'll be fixed before our strip comes up on the telethon...)

Deeply unhappy boxes are always distressing.

The good news is...

... well, no. There really isn't any. Basically you just have to wait for someone to fix it, and that usually winds up driving you crazy. So my sympathies.

It's back up now.

YAAAAAAY!!!!

See? Good landlord!

At least it wasn't because you were lazy ;)

I had a "Coming Soon" image for my "comic website" until 8 hours ago. And the Coming Soon image mis-spelt my comics name. Thankfully I was able to get something a bit better up before my comic was posted.

When I visited Gossamer Commons this morning about 07:30 CDT it loaded slowly but it loaded. The TAC message boards however were down, then and earlier when I checked mine. Back up now though.

I must have missed this outage. The sites look fine to me this morning. I was out of the office all day yesterday running errands.

I'll reboot the server just to make sure there's nothing wiffy going on.

I noticed that it wouldn't load for me around 5-6 AM CST. Of course, my web connection is finnicky, so that probably wouldn't have helped.

Okay, okay, it's all my fault.

I just went off on a tangent about the college conspiracy when I saw Monday's strip... and obviously the couple hundred readers I have just swamped your servers and crashed things.

I'm truly sorry about that, Eric, and will make sure to warn my readers not to overwhelm servers in the future.

(Damn, I can't say that with a straight face. *grin* Like I could slash/dot someone! :D)

Good luck with getting things up and running again!

I do like the look, and the style, of this comic. The bit about temping? oy vey it's so right.

I have thrice in my life worked on long-term temp assignments while they looked for "just the right match." As in, 6-8 months. And on each occasion, they were totally surprised that I would want to stay on permanently. I've even been told I couldn't get a job pushing paper without a degree, despite the fact that they (and I quote) "had never seen anyone with the skillset you have. You're terrific!" augh.

Y'know, I've never noticed my comic go down--and I'm hosted by Keenspace. I thought they were supposed to have all sorts of problems in that arena...

Well, I'm not complaining.
