oO

ooooooookay...

If I wasn't about to go out, I'd have a drink.

(Reminds me of when we hit 10K posts on the CRfH forum. What was that, back in 2002? Heh... not bad, Eric. It took Maritza two years to pull it off on her forums. You did so in just a year here. :))

So, that's averaging a hair over 11 comments per entry. Not bad at all.

I'm still trying to mentally adjust to the idea that over 2% of that is my doing.

Since the subject of community has popped up a couple times recently, I'd like to through out a request. Eric and/or Wednesday, any chance we could get a "Recent Comments" section over on the sidebar? Just to help folks keep track of things. Thanks.

So many comments, so little good comments.

I kid, I kid. The Websnark community has always been just as excellent as the site itself.

Here's hoping for at least 10,000 more comments.

Matt -- not at all a bad idea. There must be a module for MT out there already designed for this. I'll see if I can track it down.

Comment from: Matt Sweeney posted at August 23, 2005 4:26 PM

Eric, go to your main MT page, and click the help button at the top. The code is under Template Tags/Comments.

Comment from: Eric Burns posted at August 23, 2005 4:31 PM

Matt -- I found the code, actually. However, there's an SQL error that's cropped up when I try to make (any) change to templates.

I've submitted it to MT. My working theory is there's something in our upgrading along the path to 3.17 that has the DB unhappy.

My thoughts right now are to add the comments, strip back the 'recent entries' to 20 and drop the calendar entirely.

Comment from: Eric Burns posted at August 23, 2005 4:32 PM

And possibly move the number of days of posts on the front page back up to 7.

Comment from: Matt Sweeney posted at August 23, 2005 4:38 PM

Sounds cool.

If you need some help with the DB stuff, that's kind of what I do, so feel free to drop me a line. mattwsweeney over at GMail or on AIM. Lord knows I'm looking for an excuse to pull my head out of the hornet's nest that is trying to set up WebSphere by hand.

There are a pair of old Chinese curses that keep being brought to mind: "May you live in interesting times," and "May you draw the attention of people in high places."

After how interesting things were at work today, I'm just glad that it was this kind of attention, and this kind of people in high places fulfilling the latter. :)

Wow. Awesome. Now I have to count so I get # 20K.

Maybe we should place bets on who will get it. ;)

"Maybe we should place bets on who will get it. ;)"

Well, the smart money is on Tangent or 32 Footsteps.
