Eric: A preemptive strike.
This is not a Nukees snark.
This is not a Nukees snark because I fully expect to do a full strip Snark on Monday for Nukees. Darren Bleuel (that remains one of the four coolest names in webcomics -- I still say, months later, that he sounds like Bleu-el, a Kryptonian jazz musician from the scruffy coast out past the Gold Volcano, who pioneered Kandorian Soft Bop) has been building his story to one ineffable payoff.
See, Gav died again. And just like the last time, Gav took a bye on the whole "tunnel of light thing." Last time, he met and fell in love with a truly fantastic character, Ma'at, the Goddess who is the personification of Truth, Order and Efficiency. I've been looking forward to her eventual reintroduction.
Which, apparently, is happening Monday. And there has been astounding degrees of buildup. And, like all potential energy, the more you build up the greater the release.
There have been times this has felt like it's gone on too long, like it's gotten away from what Nukees is. But most of the time it was so much fun I didn't mind. And now, on the threshold of Ma'at's apartment, with Gav reacting (with shock? Disappointment? Horror? Pain? Lust? Hard to tell) to what we presume is Ma'at...
Well, we don't know.
Tremendous amounts of potential energy. Will its release be constructive or destructive? We don't know. What we do know is we'll find out Monday.
So this isn't a Snark, because I've waited five frigging months for this, and I'm not going to snark until I see it, damn it.
In the meantime, Bleuel's posted links at the top of the page that can catch you up to date with Nukees and this plotline. I recommend them, because... well, dude. Monday.

He is evil, isn't he.
I mean, not only do we have to wait 'til Monday to find out what he's going Oh My God - er, Goddess about, but the NEWSBOX is showing him with his jaw dropping open.
EVIL, I SAY! EVIL!!!
*ahem* Sorry about that...

It's a Websnark koan!
This is not a Nukees snark.
I feel closer to enlightenment already!

Wait, we're discussing koans here? Does that mean that if we see Snarky in the road, we should kill him?

Potential energy - on the nose. I shall exercise patience by playing the game with it. Which I just lost. *sigh*

Hey, there's no "Click on the thumbnail for full sized gender difficulties!"

He's totally going to wake up in a hospital bed on Monday.

Nah. My prediction is that Ma'at will look like the Goth Christian who caused all this mischief to begin wtih. ;)

So where are all the mad, wild and outrageous speculations? Has Ma'at gotten together with Cthulu (from the floor below)? Is she waiting for him in something (obviously) jaw-dropping? Has she had a bad time as of late and become a compulsive over-eater, now weighing in at a little over 400 pounds?
First, an admission: I've never read Nukees. I quite often have not read the strips that Eric snarks. I almost always read his snarks tho, and the accompanying material. I've even began reading some stips because of him (Damn you Eric!! :P). So I read this, and then used the link at the top to browse through some of the first time Gav died.
You do all remember that Ma'at is married, right? Just speculating, you know.

But... talking about unpleasant things makes them happen...

XD Geekiness for the win.

I'm in the same boat, DarkStar. The only difference is, with me, I have an inordinate amount of free time at my job. Since everyone else around me actually has work to do, I inevitably turn to giant webcomic archives.
Reading Websnark's gotten me to devour the entire archives of It's Walky!, Something Positive, Irregular Webcomic, Casey and Andy, Wigu, and now, Nukees.
The only problem with reading half a decade's worth of archives (or more!) is that you get so used to the next strip just appearing when you click the "Next" button. Then, suddenly, inevitably in the middle of a huge plot point, the story just... stops.
I was expecting Ma'at to be there! Now I have to wait, like everyone else.
And now I have to find a new archive to occupy me for Monday...

I know just what you mean, Dragonmuncher. I came pretty late to the game to some strips with fantastically huge archives (PvP and Help Desk stand out in my mind), and it gets very easy to fall into that pattern of clicking next and getting a new strip. No matter how many different archives I devour, I don't think I'll ever get used to the weirdness of getting up to date.

The worst was when I first read CRFH!!! (Note: Exclamation points are part of the title. While the experience I'm about to relate was upsetting, it was only worth one, maybe two exclamation points at best.)
I finished the archives right at the start of some end-of year vacation... right before "Back With a Vengence." So it was literally one day, "Hey! This comic is awesome! I wonder what happens next?" and the next day, "Huh? I don't get to see the next strip for almost a MONTH? Nooooooooo..."

I run into that "getting up to date feeling" too. I have a rather large number of comics that are in my backlist folder. I have not had the time lately to get caught up on many. And there are a number that I want to. Perhaps one day. Until then, I'll stick with my slowly growing list of newer comics.

First of all, I highly respect you for making it through the CRFH archives, Dragonmuncher. I know a lot of people who hit those first few months of, well, pretty crappy art, and quit. Heck, I have trouble re-reading the first few months. Still, it is pretty neat to see her art style evolve...
And on the subject of Nukees, I will admit that I did not expect that. *sigh* And yes, DarkStar, I remember Ma'at is married. *wry grin* Reminds me of watching movies with my mother, not that that's an insult or anything. For situations like this, I usually overlook those little plot points in favor of the romance angle.

I *told* you! Did I not? Gav is Eeeeeeeeeeeeeevil!!! Eeeeeeeeevil I say! Of course, not even I predicted this one... *wry grin*
