Wednesday: [w] And It's Off
We broke down and said, "Okay. It's better this way. Embrace the multideliveration; don't fear it."
Then we ordered the APG (and the IPG) from Warehouse 23.
We shall have face faith in UPS's ability to put something into a mailbox. We shall. No courier fashioned against us shall stand; the battle belongs to the Lord. We sing glory, and honour, power and strength to...
Um. Well, we sing, anyways. Unfortunately, we are, in fact, singing Petra at the moment, but I swear it's for research.

You're going to "have face in UPS's ability"?
Now I'm imagining Dirk Benedict in one of those brown uniforms...

Mmmm. Dirk Benedict in the Goddess of Empathy's lap...

So, your plan has come together. Do you love it?

UPS is infamous for leaving packages on the doorstep and not ringing the bell or anything unless the sender requests (demands!) a signature.

"That can give us life, that can make us grow
That can turn our mornings into gold. "
After you're done with your Petra, Weds, check out some "Five Iron Frenzy".
And hey, It's "PETRA". You're not listening to Jars of Clay, or Creed.
You're old school.

I never got into 5fe, although I did give them a fair shot back in the day, and I suppose I should check out their later material. I was more of a Fold Zandura/Mortal/aleixa/Echoing Green sort of girl. And, to some extent, Argyle Park, I guess, but not Circle of Dust. (Have been monofocusing Ap2/"Resurrection of the Ravens" in a pretty hardcore way since about two weeks ago.)
Besides, "The Battle Belongs to the Lord" isn't oldschool; it's Petra Praise, and therefore contemporary with Beyond Belief. So, Schlitt/Bon Jovi/hairspray-sans-drag Petra, not Volz/"Computer Brains" /"Hungry Eyes"/arena-glamrock Petra. Or "hippies with cardigans warbling The Coloring Song" Petra, even. Okay, at least it's not the stuff where Hartman wasn't even bothering. ^^
(My CCM street cred tops out at Steve Taylor's I Predict 1990 for casual listening purposes. I have some early Daniel Amos and a pile of Mark Heard, but that's not the same thing at all.)

Steve Taylor beats all other comers.

Yes. God, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. (Chagall Guevara groupies, represent.)
Although I'm terrified of his movie with Michael W. Smith.
Comment from: BassetKing posted at April 28, 2005 11:08 AM
Terrified of the movie?
I've met M.W. Smith, after one of his performances at Icthus.
That's real terror.

DA, Steve Taylor, and Mark Heard? OMG OMG OMG! ;)
I have nearly everything that Terry Taylor (not related to Steve) has been involved with - brilliant fellow, though his stuff doesn't fit into classic CCM anymore than Steve Taylor's stuff does. I've actually seen all three in concert at one point or another, but my personal fave is DA.

Dirk Benedict?
Comment from: Paul A. posted at April 29, 2005 2:25 AM
Dirk Benedict. Starred in 'The A-Team' as a character called "Face". Hence the jokes about Weds having Face in UPS.
(Also the joke about her plan coming together - "I love it when a plan comes together" was a catch-phrase from the series, although not one of Face's.)

Terry Taylor's stuff definitely didn't fit, no. (OMG OMG OMG! Someone who knows from Rev. Edward Daniel Taylor!)
Steve's a bit of a fencesitter (for every "Clone" or "Meltdown," there were a couple of "Bouquet"s; there may only have been two songs on IP1990 which fit the bill, but, well, how heavy was Squint?). Not desperately P&W CCM, but, well... yeah.
I see it's another day of the three song playlist: "Ravens" again, then "Pyro Sets a Wildfire" and "The Twist" (I can't help liking Zoom Daddy, OK?).

I'm convinced that your call for Chagall Guevara groupies to represent was simply to bring me out of hiding and get me posting.
Which I would have done last night if TypeKey had been agreeable.

Bah. I'm an idiot. Let's try THIS link instead.

I have a gaming buddy by the name of Egnix who I met on the original DADL - he was admin at the time, iirc - and we've been gaming since we first played Links over 28.8 dial-up with Pentium 100s. He had to borrow a Windows PC because his precious Amiga was better than sliced bread but didn't grok DirectX. Every so often one or the other of us will crack back over voice with some obscure TST / DA / Swirling Eddies / Lost Dogs reference and totally amuse the other and confuse everyone else in voice at the time. My favorite bit is right off Rev. Edward Daniel Taylor, "oh no, we have negative fruit, people!". So that makes, like, two of us laughing our heads off.
With that, Phy's off for the Sprinkler Heads reuninon tour while waiting for the Ghost Riders in the Sky.
